[size="3"]I'm a Boeing fan and I believe in the potential of the 787 to be a game changing airplane. That being said I think Boeing management still fails to grasp that they have absolutely zero credibility. I can't think a major Boeing project (Wedgetail, 787, 747-8, P-8, KC767 etc.) that hasn't been delayed or suffered major setbacks. Given all the declarations that all is well which have been followed by further major problems it would appear that senior leadership at Boeing doesn't have a clue what is going on with their products. The delays to the 787 and Italian 767 tanker are especially egregious in this regard. In my view senior leadership at Boeing faces two major challenges. First figuring out why they can no longer deliver a product on time and on spec and fixing those issues. Second figuring out how and why they could lose all contact with the reality of where these programs stood. In the meantime Boeing must recognize that no-one will believe anything they are saying about these programs until they can start actually delivering on their promises. Until it enters service and starts delivering on its promise the 787 will remain nothing more than vaporware. It pains me to paint such a bleak picture of Boeing but much like an alcoholic who needs to hit rock bottom before he can begin the road to recovery Boeing needs to face reality before it can start the road to fixing the major problems that have led it to where it is today. |

I can't help but notice that everyone who claims Boeing has "zero credibility" or "has zero trust" are people who don't actually own or operate Boeing products.
Maybe, just maybe, the people who run the airlines and the air forces that have daily experience with Boeing commercial or military aircraft might have a better idea of exactly how "credible" and "trustworthy" Boeing is. |

Why does one have to own or operate Boeing products to question their credibility? I suspect you don't own or operate Boeing products, but that hasn't stopped you from sharing your opinion on any number of topics. -------------------- |

I don't make blanket statements speaking for the entire industry as if my view is also their view. I've never offered the opinion, much less a declarative statement, that every airline in the world does not trust Boeing, will never buy a Boeing product again, have only been lied to by Boeing, etc. etc. etc. I mean Boeing is still recording orders from airlines and airlines are still taking delivery of planes from them, so they clearly don't seem to be the pariah some people's comments are trying to make them out to be. I've also been a Boeing shareholder for over a decade, and am a former employee of the company, so I do have some connection to the company, even if not as an owner or operator of a Boeing product. |

Sure, but I offer my opinion. As did Ski206.QUOTE I don't make blanket statements speaking for the entire industry as if my view is also their view. Nor did Ski206.
