Yemen's national carrier, Yemenia, has signed a $700m agreement with Airbus for the purchase of 10 new A320 airbus aircraft, as part of the airline's strategy to increase routes and develop its fleet, KUNA has reported.
The first two planes of the batch will arrive in 2011, followed by two more every year following, Chairman Abdulkhaliq Al-Qadhi said.
The airline will open a new route to China as well as a number of African countries, he added.

Nice to see another area of the Arab penninsula where the acronym "GFC" apparently means nothing. However, by ME standards, it is a comparitively modest acquisition and was no doubt made at a time where pricing structures for new frames is er, .. advantageous ?
