When the Boeing 747-8 makes its first flight from its Everett hangar, possibly later this month, the Future of Flight Aviation Center will hold another party.
For $125, donors to the Future of Flight Foundation will get to see the big plane take off and land as they watch from the center’s rooftop observation deck overlooking Paine Field, near where Boeing Co. assembles the jet.
The Future of Flight held a similar event when the Boeing 787 made its first flight last month, charging $250 per person and attracting 450 people, according to Sandy Ward, the center’s marketing director, with revenues from the events supporting the Future of Flight Foundation.
Ward said the 747-8 watching party is “totally weather dependent,” and patrons need to be flexible. For more information on the event.
