NYC777
Boeing shows an increase of 26 orders week over week.

2 787 for Icelandair
3 767 for LAN
16 737 for Air Europa
5 737 for Alaska

And no cancellations through the 1st Quarter of 2006! Nice! banana.gif

So if they keep the orders up at that pace, that means about 700 for the year - a great year considering the blowout year in 2005...

...interesting that theres no 777 orders for Q1 too ohmy.gif

It’s a small top-up order, which surely incorporates the nice Signature Interior adapted to the 767.

And one thing about LAN, they keep topping up and topping up on 767. Recent 767 orders:
06-May-2004 2 767-300F
12-Nov-2004 3 767-300ER and 1 767-300F
11-May-2005 2 767-300ER and 1 767-300F
21-Jul-2005 3 767-300ER

BTW, I don't think we can take it as a given that this latest order is purely 767-300ERs. LAN buying more 300Fs is possible...

March was a good month for Boeing, with the Qantas 787s, and the Air Europa/GECAS 737s. Looking at last year, April was also a banner month for the lads, with the back-to-back-to-back wins at AI, AC, and NW...one can only hope this month holds some neat surprises as well.

Yeah, and after QR and Kingfisher get through ordering the A340, I can already see the headlines now...'2005 Underdog A340 Kicking Major ASS in 2006!'... nuke.gif

Since the QR was already reported under orders for Emirates, Airbus couldn't count it again, could they whistling.gif

I really do need to get a sales job with Airbus one day, so I could claim commission on selling the same plane many times! You get credit on the preliminary discussions, another commission from the LoI, then one from the actual order, then if the order is ever modded you get credit again. Do you think they would give me a sales comp plan like that?

Here's a new slogan for Airbus - Build Once, Sell Twice, Take Credit Thrice.

They will almost certainly take credit for a new sale if QR orders, since the EK orders remain on the books. EK has "deferred" rather than "cancelled". Actually, Airbus is perfectly within their rights on this one.

Did the previous QR orders (MOU, LOI, whatever) show on Airbus' figures as orders and if so, then cancellations? Then Airbus is within their rights to on this one blink.gif

No, I don't believe they did. Neverless, they'll surely be played to the hilt by AB in the media when they re-announce it.

Third of the year gone and no 777 orders...seems almost unreal! ohmy.gif
DAL767-400ER
That can still happen *cough*SQ*cough* icon_wink.gif . At least the 737 is on it's usual roll: 173 orders at least ('at least' since I don't know how many of the UFOs might be WN). Will be another solid year for that plane designed in the stone age icon_razz.gif .

Honestly, it's been a fairly slow year in general for WB orders so far. The QANTAS commitment was announced last year -- and represents 45 of the 65 Boeing widebody orders this year. Most of the rest are follow-ons, aside from a 5 plane 787 UFO and the Kenya Airways order. Airbus booked 20 WB through March, again with the highlight being Finnair... maybe things will heat up with the weather (North Hemisphere, of course)...

Anyone have an idea whose the UFO 787's could be for?
